Why did you choose the Roaring Fork Valley?

“I moved to Aspen in 2014 while I was still working film production in New York. Winters were always slow for film production work so I called my brother who was living out here and decided to try out one winter. One winter turned into 6+ years. As my first winter started to come to an end, I realized how much better my quality of life was. I was happy. Skiing is what brought me here and also kept me here. But once I experienced a summer, I was locked in for life. The weather, the outdoor activities, and the people are so different compared to New York. Now, I call this valley ‘home.’”

WHAT DOES LIVING THE “ASPEN IDEA” MEAN TO YOU?

“In New York, I found that I was only happy in the summer. The beach, boats, and fishing were a way of life for me. But summer only lasts so long. Here in the Roaring Fork Valley, I realized that my mind, body, and spirit fully flourished. I immersed myself in skiing, hiking, camping, rafting, and fishing. I found that I was happy all year long compared to just a few months of the year.”

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO JOIN THE TEAM AT REESE HENRY?

“I moved to Denver from the Roaring Fork Valley in 2018 for new job opportunities and to build on my resume. When Covid hit in 2020 I lost my job and that left me with some serious decisions to make. When I sat down to figure out what my next step would be, I couldn’t stop thinking about the Roaring Fork Valley. So, I jumped in a U-Haul and moved back. I started looking for jobs outside the normal mountain town jobs like serving, bartending, and the ski company. I landed a position with Reese Henry. It’s a smaller company than what I have been used to but I love that. It feels like family where everyone knows each other. It has been such an amazing work environment with great people. I am learning so much. I am excited to see where this journey takes me.”
