Technical Skills
Demonstrates the ability to tie out basic balance sheet items and document testing
Understands and applies GAAP, GAAS, and basic principles of internal accounting control
Basic understanding and ability to use firm technology, including Audit File, Microsoft Office suite, CCH, Confirmation.com, etc.
Performs audit procedures on foundational, less complex engagements and prepares appropriate audit conclusions
Demonstrates the ability to determine sample selection based on engagement materiality thresholds
Demonstrates a general understanding of audit professional skepticism
Demonstrates ability to provide neat, complete and organized workpapers
Accurately prepares draft financial statements and management communication letter
Identifies and notifies managers of potential matters for inclusion within the communication to management and prepares initial draft

Key Qualifications
Technical Skills
Displays a fundamental understanding of firm processes and systems and works with internal teams to utilize the same to produce timely and quality work product.
Demonstrates the ability to efficiently and effectively use firm software, e.g., CCH Tax, CCH Document, CCH Time Entry, QBs, Excel, etc.
Detail review financials, proposing changes, reclasses and tax entries to use during tax return process.
Assists others in resolving problems related to systems or software.
Organize tax documentation and correspondence within software.
Prepare all types of tax returns without overrides (1040, 1065, 1120S, 1120, 990, 1041, etc.).
Address and clear all diagnostics, with notes to the reviewer on open items, positions and decisions.
Participates in quarterly, annual, or one-off planning engagements with client (with supervision).
Ability to identify / raise potential tax issues as part of the preparation of returns and workpapers.
Displays working knowledge of tax research platforms .
Demonstrates the ability to research tax issues and outline finds and conclusions to reviewer.
Archives tax position support indicating whether it is authoritative or nonauthoritative (professional commentary, IRC sections, IRS guidance, PLR, etc.)
Ability to draft IRS abatement letters (with supervision).
Demonstrates an understanding of basic state taxation issues.
Provides accurate calculations on complex book-to-tax differences.
Demonstrates ability to perform a thorough self-review of work.
Takes initiative to learn tax concepts where there is a knowledge gap (through CPE plan or outside research).
