My Road To Reese Henry...
Mark Kavasch grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Discovering hard work and a green thumb, Mark established a lawn-mowing service at 11 years old. Attending college at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Marks work ethic and knack for cultivation served him well as he worked in a tree nursery for three years to help pay for college. Graduating in 1980 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Mark was hired by Seidman & Seidman in Grand Rapids, Michigan. For two and a half years he worked as an auditor on national accounts and in the tax department when the audit season was over.
Mark moved to Aspen in 1982 and was hired by Reese Henry & Company specializing in audits and tax services. He became partner in 1989 and currently specializes in business consulting, tax planning, tax compliance, IRS resolutions, financial preparation, internal accounting controls and audits. Mark is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Colorado Society of CPAs and is licensed with the Colorado State Board of Accountancy.
Outside The Office...
Mark is married to a lovely lady, Susan Lau, has two children, Mandy and Justin, two grandchildren, Asher and Alexandra and several pets, too numerous to name. Marks interests and hobbies all relate to either being outdoors or with his children and grandchildren.
Mark enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, rafting and camping as well as travel and attending community theatre. He has a special affection for his 1959 Massey Ferguson, a 35 HP tractor that started its career in 1959 at the North Star Preserve in Aspen.
Mark and his family enjoy living in this area because of the mountains, rivers and forests. They are especially attracted to the rural setting and open spaces, but also enjoy the big-city amenities of fine restaurants and entertainment that Aspen and Roaring Fork Valley provide.
My Community Focus...
Mark is a board member of The Buddy Program and has been long-connected with activities for kids and mentoring programs. He is proud of the work that The Buddy Program does for kids in the community.
