My Road To Reese Henry...

Kelly Boggs was born in Durango, Colorado and grew up in Aztec, New Mexico where he developed a love for the game of soccer. His passion for the sport transcended into college where Kelly attended Drury University, a private liberal arts school in Springfield, Missouri, on a soccer scholarship. Graduating Cum Laude, Kelly received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Accounting. Kelly is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a member of AICPA, Colorado Society of CPAs and NACVA. Before joining Reese Henry, Kelly worked with REDW, a regional public accounting firm based in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Deloitte, a “Big Four” international accounting firm.

Outside The Office...

Kelly enjoys the connection and proximity to the outdoors. He loves exploring new places with his family; lovely wife Emily, two wonderful children Lillie, 3 and Gavin, 1, and dog Jerome. As an avid sports enthusiast, Kelly continues to enjoy soccer, skiing, hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, biking, fly-fishing, reading and history. Kelly has also enjoyed learning to surf when on occasional beach vacations. Practicing at Reese Henry & Company has allowed Kelly to live in a unique mountain town while continuing to practice with the same type of clientele he did as a Private Client Advisor for a “Big Four” accounting firm.

My Community Focus...

Kelly and his family enjoy Aspen’s local community culture, active lifestyle, great restaurants, concerts and art/cultural activities usually found only in large cities. They have a strong commitment to the community and feel that giving back is the most rewarding part to living here. Kelly is a member of the Roaring Fork Valley Early Learning Fund Board of Directors, which has brought the Raising a Reader Program, an early-childhood literacy program, to pre-schools from Aspen to Parachute, Colorado. They also support non-profit organizations that focus on cancer research.

Kelly brings experience, technical expertise and intellectual curiosity to Reese Henry. These qualities translate into a unique approach in the practice of public accounting. He equally enjoys mastering technical issues in tax law and building long-term relationships with clients that focus on understanding family, businesses and financial goals. The result is value. Kelly implements financial plans to mitigate and minimize taxes – both income and estate/gift – and manages risk while working toward a client’s business and financial goals. Kelly’s expertise is in the area of taxation and consulting with emphasis on management advisory services, tax consulting and compliance for high-net-worth individuals/family groups, as well as closely held businesses. He has extensive experience in transactional tax planning, real estate accounting and taxation, real estate transaction structuring, partnership taxation and planning and estate tax planning.
